Bijlage 9 ArabTEX — Typesetting Arabic with Vowels and Ligatures
نویسنده
چکیده
We present a TEX macro package for generating the arabic writing from a standardized ASCII input notation. It can handle partial or full vocalization, and generates automatically most of the common ligatures. There is limited support for Farsi, Urdu, and Pashto. ArabTEX is compatible with Plain TEX and also most LATEX environments; arabic and other material can be mixed freely. For special purposes the standard transliteration can be additionally generated. ArabTEX uses no preprocessor and thus should be compatible with any TEX implementation that allows dynamic loading of additional macro files and fonts.

متن کاملLanguage Support A Simple Technique for Typesetting Hebrew with Vowel Points
This paper describes a simple mechanism for typesetting Hebrew with vowel points. Hebrew uses a large set of accents that represent vowels, consonant modifiers, and cantillation instructions. These accents are placed above, below, or inside letters; a single letter can carry several accents. The solution that we describe, which is designed for PostScript [2] output devices, leaves the placement...

We describe the challenges of producing high-quality Arabic fonts in general and what AlQalam has introduced to meet Ar...

This paper describes formal bases for designing a PostScript dynamic font respecting some basic rules of Arabic calligraphy. This font will provide, for instance, a vertical curvilinear characters dynamic stretching that depends on their horizontal stretching according to the Calligraphic rules. Vertical and horizontal ligatures will also be supported by the proposed font. The techniques used c...
